CarMax Torrance

Our firm was approached by CarMax, a nationwide group of auto dealerships, to value engineer a completed design that was ready for final plan check submittal.  Our preconstruction team suggested a design-build approach that allowed them to re-design the structure while maintaining the program requirements.  With the help of Ware Malcolm Architects, our team designed and constructed the new facility within the original construction schedule while reducing the cost of the project by almost 30 percent.  Based on the success of this project, CarMax has adopted the design-build approach as their standard method of construction procurement.
