Costa Mesa Sanitary District – New Corporate Yard

This new LEED Platinum certified facility was constructed from local renewable resources and combines energy efficiency through its design and energy efficient systems. The  1-story structure, complete with a mezzanine containing administrative offices and an enclosed vehicle storage area, totals 6,500 sf.

Architectural masonry walls with glazing on the exterior provide structural support for the wood truss roof structure. The roof supports a system of photovoltaic panels that will generate 12.3kW AC while a durable white reflective “Cool Roof” reduces building heat.  Over 75% of building construction waste was recycled and over 50% of waste generated during normal operation will be recycled.
