Focal Communications

This switching and collocate facility included 10,000 sf of access floored switching and collocate rooms on the second floor of an historic 1920s building in downtown Seattle.  Two dedicated cooling towers added on the roof maintain optimum temperatures in the 5,000 sf switch room that operates 24/7, and in the 4,500 sf collocate rooms, augmented by ten floor-mounted Liebert units.  A separate 1,300 sf power room manages the facility’s power requirements.  An emergency generator, 1,000-gallon fuel tank and battery radio provide UPS to the facility in the event of power loss.
