Harborview Medical Center- View Park II Parking Structure & Emergency Heliport

West of Harborview Medical Center and south of Harborview Medical Center’s existing parking structure, this design-build parking garage included the design and construction of:

 * a new, five-level, 152,500 sf, cast-in-place post tensioned concrete framed subterranean parking structure, designed to accommodate 440 vehicles;

 * a new 23,556 sf permanent garage rooftop helipad, designed to accommodate three medi-vac helicopters; and

 * a new 8,120 sf temporary steel framed rooftop helipad, designed to accommodate two medi-vac helicopters during the course of construction.

The phased design, permit and construction approach expedited the earliest possible building permit issuance and construction start date, while maintaining uninterrupted use of the adjacent existing 385-stall parking structure.
