Instructional Technology Center at South Seattle Community College

At 45,000 sf, the Instructional Technology Center at South Seattle Community College contains three stories of classroom/lecture facilities.  The steel-framed structure is outfitted with 7,200 sf of lab space—two biology labs, a chemistry lab with instrument and chemical storage room, and a damp lab, all with associated prep rooms as well as fume hoods and emergency showers.  With 147-person capacity, the lecture hall/stage has equipment that includes theater curtains and rigging, stage lighting and audio/visual systems.

The building expands campus capacity with 16 classrooms and labs, a lecture hall and conference room, two work rooms and seven offices.  The main floor houses six computer classrooms with raised access flooring.  In addition to the ITC building, the team performed upgrade work on the campus including landscaping, plaza paving, new sidewalks and sidewalk replacement.  Electrical infrastructure improvements include extension of the underground electrical and communications systems, with new vaults for power and communication runs through the center of campus.  Parking was expanded with two paved lots (330 stalls, total), and a separate gravel lot with 50 spaces.
