Monorail

Howard S. Wright built many structures for the 1962 World’s Fair.  Among them is the high-speed monorail.  The monorail is a one-mile system of precast concrete rails and supports.  Passengers move up to the stations of moving belts known as “speed ramps.”  The cars travel on a track 5,200 ft long at speeds up to 70-miles per hour on the straightaway.
