Howard S. Wright completed this 3-phase hangar remodel at the Deer Valley Airport. This is our fourth project with owner/client NextStudent. In Phase I, our team modified the structure of the existing hangar to allow for a 100 ft wide clear opening hangar door. The back of the building was completely removed to accommodate two new roll-up garage doors as well as the new 100 ft by 18 ft hangar door. A new 107 ft by 40 ft, 36,000 lb steel girder was also installed for support.
Two stories of corporate office space were renovated in Phase II of the project. 10,000 sf of existing space was demolished and rebuilt to include bathrooms and call center space. This also required structural work on existing concrete tilt panels to allow for the installation of a new elevator. Phase III, the final phase, included the addition of 20 parking spaces, a screen wall, and new landscaping. ADA accessible ramps were added, as well as sidewalks, striping, and signage.
