OHSU Building 39 – ABSL3 Lab

OHSU Building 39 is a 12,000 sf ground-up project for Animal Services/ABSL-3.  The project was awarded following our continued work at OHSU’s West Campus and involvement with their Animal Services Dept. The project includes an animal services holding area with concrete trench flush-outs, cage washer, campus wide kitchen, and support rooms; plus fully sealed ABSL 3 Lab with animal holding rooms, laboratories, clean change, animal cart sized autoclaves, and decontamination system. 

HSW coordinated with the design team and commissioning agency for over three years, offering constructability input and ensuring that the project met certification requirements.  In addition, OHSU accepted HSW’s cost savings ideas to reduce significant maintenance costs over time.
