PRODA Radiation Oncology Center
This medical project included the PRODA Radiation Oncology Center, a new three-story Medical Office Building (MOB), a Linear Accelerator and a Computed Tomography (CT) Scanner.
The MOB is a 20,043 sf steel structure with brick veneer and stucco exterior. The ground floor was built out as a Radiation and Oncology treatment facility with concrete walls up to 6-ft thick at the linear accelerator vault. A glassed-in stairwell showcases the exterior Healing Garden (Green Wall) that was also incorporated into the project.
Subcontractors were selected early on to facilitate design and constructability issues, and they focused on cost control during the accelerated schedule. The direct benefits of this partnering effort were a lower project cost, improved schedule, and greater quality. As a team, we met the early turn over and HVAC start-up date for the Linear Accelerator Vault and completed the project two months ahead of schedule.
