Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse

Ruth’s Chris is a 10,000 sf high-end steakhouse located on the ground level of the Pacific First Building in downtown Portland.  The design of Ruth’s Chris reflects the restaurants roots as a vibrant New Orleans concept while incorporating elements of Portland’s personality.  The City of Portland is featured in the art throughout the space, including a blend of vintage black and white photography and painted works.

An aggressive schedule and a major coordination effort with owner supplied equipment, millwork and fixtures were some of the project challenges that Howard S. Wright successfully overcame. Site access and working within an occupied Class A office building posed additional challenges, resulting in off-shift hours for the team to perform activities that may have compromise the normal day-to-day activities within the building.

Since early 2007, Howard S. Wright has completed numerous projects in the building, including a major lobby and public space renovation, as well as landlord shell and core work, which is now the home to the new restaurant.
