Seattle Sheraton Hotel
The Seattle Sheraton Hotel occupies an entire block in the heart of Seattle. The rectangular base of this 34-story hotel houses four stories of assembly, event and dining spaces, parking facilities and supports the triangular guest room tower. Guests enjoy a panorama view of Puget Sound and the surrounding mountains from the top floor restaurant, complete health club and glassed-in swimming pool.
The 866-room structure is reinforced concrete and spandrels, precast concrete floor system, prefabricated plaster panel with bronze aluminum finished thermoglazed windows. The roof is aged copper colored metal.
The full city block site incorporates the experience of Sheraton resorts, hotels, and inns worldwide. Eight passenger elevators minimize waits for patrons.
Most of the hotel’s 40,000 sf of meeting and banquet space is on one level. This second level has its own grand entrance to the street level and elevator/escalator access to covered parking and the rest of the hotel.
The Howard S. Wright project team began opening the doors of the phased full-city block project in two years time. This was possible by working closely with the project’s architect to coordinate the intricate design elements of the structure, which resulted in the completion of the accelerated construction schedule on time.
