South Coast Plaza Retail Center Renovation

The common area renovations at South Coast Plaza included the installation of 120,000 sf of Italian travertine flooring, glass balcony rails, glass automatic doors, new Concierge desks and teak planter benches.  A new, all-glass elevator, one of only two of its kind in the U.S., was also installed.  According to several magazines, the mall has higher sales per square foot than any other mall in the U.S., with high-end retail tenants.  Howard S. Wright Constructors completed interior upgrades to the existing mall by replacing floor finishes, remodeling planter surfaces, completing stair modifications, replacing exterior glass doors, adding elevators, and working on escalator modifications.   All of the work was performed at night to ensure minimal impact to daytime sales.  Pedestrian safety was a critical component of this project as was cleanliness and appearance of work during normal business hours.
