The Boys and Girls Club of Metropolitan Phoenix
We constructed two buildings for the Boys and Girls Club of Metropolitan Phoenix, a voluntary nonprofit organization. Both facilities are built on the property of existing elementary schools; one in Glendale and one in Paradise Valley. The buildings are similar in design, each approximately 25,000 sf containing a regulation basketball court, computer and arts labs, a multi-purpose classroom, and a full commercial kitchen.
The Boys and Girls Club of Metropolitan Phoenix is reinforcing their relationship with public schools by locating these facilities on school grounds. The challenge our construction team overcame was setting up and maintaining a safe construction site while school is in session.
As a non-profit corporation, the client was aggressive about finding opportunities to secure donated goods and services for the buildings. Our project team was successful in working with the subcontractors to integrate owner supplied material, therefore reducing the overall project cost.
