Tucson Data Center Phase 1 & 2

Howard S. Wright completed this data center/switch facility for a global leader in infrastructure software, and a repeat client. The 37,000 sf, single-story building includes numerous mission-critical components necessary for the company’s worldwide operations.

The facility consists of office and administrative offices, a raised-access floor and electrical/mechanical equipment space, as well as the addition of three 180-ton screw chillers, chilled water pumps, computer-room AC units, two 2,000-kw emergency back-up generators, three 750-KVA UPS systems, 12 power-distribution units and 24 remote-distribution cabinets.

The project also included a 10,000-gallon, design-build fuel oil system and a design-build FM-200 system protecting the entire 20,000 sf raised-floor computer room. Data cabling components included an extensive three-tier ladder-rack system with more than 350,000 linear feet of overhead copper and fiber data cabling.

Howard S. Wright coordinated security elements on this secured site including multiple security cameras, a highly-advanced badge ID system for employees and authorized personnel, and a biometrics system.
