WAMU Seattle Executive Floors – WAMU Tower
This 1,556,100 sf office building was a distinctive addition to the Seattle skyline. Containing six-levels of underground parking and 55 stories, the building is constructed of a steel frame with partial bracing, metal deck and concrete floor slabs. The exterior skin features granite panels and an aluminum and glass curtainwall. The project included the restoration of the brick walls of an adjacent historic building which was otherwise demolished and reconstructed. Work included heavy structural steel moment frame and metal deck construction, a decorative aluminum curtainwall, extensive plaza and lobby finishes, plus high quality tenant improvements.
Richly textured finish work makes this 36,000 sf, two-floor tenant improvement unique. Custom finishes were used throughout and included cherry storefront office walls and doors, patterned carpet, and bamboo flooring. A showcase stairway, installed as an intermediate stair between the two floors, is a stand-out feature with hardwood treads and risers and cherry millwork, it is also framed with ornamental handrails and glass walls.
